Zaanse Schans is a neighborhood in the Dutch town of Zaandam, near Amsterdam. It is a little village outside Amsterdam, a beautiful historic mill village with centuries-old windmills and timber houses painted green.

  • Tickets: Zaanse Schans does not charge an entrance fee. But each of the sub-museums does (each windmill, for example)

One of the highlights was witnessing replicas of ancient Egyptian water clocks, a testament to the ingenuity of early civilizations. The museum also boasts the oldest collection of church clocks in the Netherlands, showcasing the craftsmanship and artistry of bygone eras.
